Oy Culmentor Ltd has been involved in implementing unique environmental actions.
In Lieksa, Kemijoki Oy’s smolt catching device and pool migration solution has been completed and the inauguration was held 14th of June. The catching device and pool migration solution is Finland’s first and its purpose is to revive migratory and endangered lake salmon and trout populations. Smolts are caught in a controlled manner, marked, and transported below the hydropower plant to a lake Pielinen. Catching of the Smolts began on the 25th of May.
The project was implemented as a joint venture, where Culmentor was responsible for the construction work together with V-P Toiviainen Oy.

In Seinäjoki, Laukeuden Etappi Oy’s new waste recycling station has been completed, and inauguration was held on the 10th of June. Oy Culmentor Ltd acted as project manager in the construction project. The new recycling station offers convenience with covered waste reception around the clock and it’s accessible by mobile application. There are more sorting options compared to other waste stations. Recycled materials were also utilized in station’s construction phase in area and building materials. The recycling station is self-sufficient in energy for part of the year. Self-sufficiency has been implemented with geothermal and solar energy. The recycling station is also self-sufficient in domestic water, as the rainwater is collected from the roof and purified by reverse osmosis to be used as domestic water. The recycling station is called RE-point and will be opened to customers on the 28th of June.
