The Microelectronics Research Unit (MIC) and Research Unit of Medical Imaging, Physics and Technology (MIPT) from the University of Oulu have received a significant grant from the Horizon 2020 Programme for the project ”MIRACLE (Mid-infrared arthroscopy innovative imaging system for real-time clinical in depth examination and diagnosis of degenerative joint diseases)”.
The 3,5-year project led by the University of Oulu will implement and demonstrate an innovative MIR imaging-probe to be used during minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery enabling the in-depth diagnosis of degenerative joint diseases such as osteoarthritis. The project’s total budget is 6,2 million EUR and the consortium consists of 13 European partners. The project will be coordinated at the University by Dr. Gabriela Lorite.
Culmentor supported the University in composing the H2020 project proposal.
